DIGI internet in Spain, explained in English

See what DIGI home fibre is really like — its low prices, where it is fastest, the documents you will need and one technical catch — then decide whether to set it up yourself or let Settlewell help in English.

Is DIGI right for you?

DIGI is the best-value choice when its own fibre reaches your address — high speed for a low price, with only a short 3-month commitment. The trade-offs are fewer English-support comforts and one technical catch.

Choose DIGI if

  • You want the best price for the speed — DIGI is usually the cheapest fast fibre, especially where it has built its own network.
  • You do not want a long contract — DIGI's commitment is only about three months.
  • You already have your Spanish ID number, called an NIE, sorted, so signing up is straightforward.

Look elsewhere if

  • You have just arrived with only a passport — DIGI usually needs a Spanish ID number, called an NIE; a Movistar store is sometimes more flexible with a passport.
  • You want proper hand-holding in English — DIGI offers some English support, but it is less geared to newcomers than Vodafone.
  • You use security cameras or game servers, or need to reach your home network from outside — DIGI shares one internet address between homes by default, but you can pay a little extra to change this.

Choose your route

Both routes are valid. The choice is simple: order from DIGI yourself, or let Settlewell compare options and coordinate the setup.

Prepare once, avoid most delays

DIGI is strongest when its own fibre reaches the address. Confirm the network type, prepare your Spanish documents, then protect the installation appointment.

  1. 1

    Check the exact address

DIGI can work very differently from one address to the next. Check whether the property has DIGI's own fibre or a product that depends on another operator.

  2. 2

    Understand the network type

DIGI SMART normally installs faster than DIGI products that depend on another operator's infrastructure. If another operator is involved, the order can take longer.

  3. 3

    Prepare documents and contact details

For home fibre, assume DIGI needs a Spanish ID number, called an NIE or DNI. Settlewell normally also uses a Spanish bank account and a Spanish phone number for a reliable order.

  4. 4

    Protect the installation appointment

Make sure someone can answer Spanish calls, grant building access and approve router or cable placement. Keep the old connection active until the new line is installed and tested.

What English help can you expect from DIGI?

DIGI has real English-speaking advisers, but the website, automated flows and store journey are still Spanish-led.

Customer-service teams

DIGI confirms advisers in Spanish, English and Romanian.

Ordering journey

The public signup flow and documents are not built as an English-first experience.

Practical expectation

DIGI can be a strong choice if your documents are ready and you are comfortable with a more Spanish-market process.

Compare before you commit

Provider choice in Spain is address-specific. DIGI may be right, but Movistar, Vodafone, Orange or MásMóvil can be a better fit depending on coverage, documents and support needs.
